All These Things I've Seen by FriendFrog All These Things I've Seen by FriendFrog
No, I don't know what happened to his nose. (Edit: According to ~ManitouWolf, it's probably a result of him rubbing it on chain-link fence.) I wish we were better caretakers of the earth. :saddummy:

Tigers DO NOT want to be your pets. Of course, you already knew that...

Lucky for this guy, he made it to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado. Now he has a pool and a friend (who, apparently, he doesn't want to share the pool with).

More tigers!

(This was on my hard drive gathering dust until :iconstormninjakapow: made me look through old cat photos.) :highfive:

Thank you! I used thumb codes like :thumb306568636:. You can find them on the right side of the page under "Details." I'm not sure that they work for non-subscribers though, except in notes. :saddummy:

The bald patch on his nose comes from when they rub their noses against chainlink fencing. A few tigers at the Sanctuary I used to volunteer at had the same problem.

this really got me thinking as to how these poor creatures are skinned and taken from their homes and families. I mean, why pay thousands of dollars for another's coat so you can wear it for a night, when you could live without the coat, and let another wear it freely for a lifetime?
that's probably not the point you were getting across, but that's what I thought of. xD sorry

No, that makes sense. With any demand for animals like these, you end up with things like tiger reserves with no tigers. :(

I'm glad for sanctuaries. Hence the name, they give these animals a better environment than maybe what they were in. Great photo!

Me too. When you visit, they give you a binder full of rescue stories. I couldn't bring myself to read them. I'm so glad there's a safe place for these animals.

Thank you! :)

For some reason this really strikes a chord of benevolence and underlying anger of the wild beast trapped in confinement. I love it, I think the scar on his nose really brings out the danger these animals are capable of.

I really do wonder who left him that scar. At the same time, I probably don't want to know.

I'm glad you like him though!

I'd trade the steak I'm going to eat tomorrow for the tiger's thoughts. He looks a little sad or disappointed, but then again, we humans were never great at decoding the emotions of our fellow quadrupeds. One says "OMG that tiger is so happy!" while the other: "You fool. Can't you see how depressed it is? It;s obviously missing its freedom."

Not the best examples I could think of. It's hard to do that in the half-asleep, zombie state I'm in right now. Need to turn off the PC and regenerate my neurons before a full transformation occurs o__O.

At least in this moment, I think he's trying to determine how feisty his pool companion is, and if the other tiger wants to play, fight, or just chill. I hope he's focused on the present, rather than the past.

Hm, he's a pretty thing isn't he? Shame about his nose though, that looks painful =( Do you know what kind of tiger he is?
